AAttested
Someone spent September running automated searches through Denmark's Central Person Register on an unnamed domestic company's legitimate access, harvesting names, addresses, and CPR numbers for roughly 8.8 million people. Nobody has said how that access was obtained or who used it. The register's real perimeter was every outside company that was allowed to login, and one of them was allowed to query an entire nation at machine speed. A national identifier is the one credential a country cannot reissue.
