Thousands of ASOS customers heard about the intrusion from the intruders themselves, through an unauthorized push notification sent over the third-party platforms ASOS uses to reach them. A group calling itself the Xuanye Group claims a full compromise of a Snowflake instance; ASOS says names and contact details may have been accessed and has not said how anyone got in. The messaging platform was a public disclosure mechanism that beat ASOS's own communications by hours.
