Names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers sat there because one contractor holds them for more than 700 banks and credit unions: a single breach reached 74 institutions and over 780,000 people. How many banked at BayFirst the filing does not say. A bank can lock every system it owns and still lose its customers through a vendor's front door.
