Hackers reached a University of Copenhagen test environment holding the names, Danish CPR numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses of 525,000 people, along with PIN access codes for 20,000 staff and students. How they got in has not been said. Copying real identities into a system built for breaking things carried the whole failure domain into the sandbox. New door codes went out within days. Nobody is reissuing 525,000 CPR numbers.
