Hippo's online quote tool leaked names, driver's license numbers, and birthdates from January 30, 2025 to August 11, 2026, through a pre-fill feature that fetched consumer data from Verisk. A coding error turned a sales convenience into an open lookup against Verisk's records, and the access outlived its own discovery by eight days. The filings count 38,518 Texans and 5,132 in Massachusetts and give no overall total. Any public form that fetches identity on request is the perimeter, guarded or not.
