AAttested
An unauthorized party reached 11,774,247 CAPCOM ID records, the shared sign-in behind Capcom's web services, forums, and online multiplayer, and changed passwords on 196 accounts without their owners' consent. Email addresses, login histories, and last-login IP addresses were exposed; how the intruder got in, and for how long, goes unsaid. One identity system for everything made one failure domain for everything. No card data, Capcom stresses: only a ledger of who logs in, when, and from where.
Media and Entertainment
Capcom confirms data breach affecting 11.7 million accounts

About this record

This incident is beyond the filings: attributed to a company statement, a regulator or court record, or a news report, and graded Attested or Inferred. Every figure links to the source it was read from; if we have read one wrong, tell us at info@hackerinahoodie.com. This index never sums figures across incidents. See the methodology.
