Boston Scientific's on-premise systems were breached beginning August 25, 2026, by intruders the company has not named, with the intrusion still active a week later. The company draws a line between cloud and on-premise, but the breach crossed it anyway, severing cardiac implants and monitors from remote pairing while also halting manufacturing, shipping, and orders. A boundary that only exists on an architecture diagram is not a boundary. Boston Scientific declined to say whether this was ransomware, which is itself a kind of answer.
